Your Methodist Women’s Center OB/GYN physician may order diagnostic imaging to aid in the diagnosis of potential problems that cannot immediately be determined through visual or physical exams and routine testing. Diagnostic imaging creates pictures of the activities going on inside your body.
The technology used largely depends on your symptoms. Most technologies used are generally easy and painless, though they can be uncomfortable due to the amount of time you have to remain still or inside a machine. Sometimes, a scope may be necessary to see the inside of organs, which generally requires anesthesia.
Diagnostic imaging tools include x-rays, CT scans (commonly called cat scans), MRI’s and ultrasounds. We also offer you 3D ultrasound, 3D digital mammography and the only high-field open MRI in the Omaha and Council Bluffs area.
