Female sexual dysfunction refers to any condition that affects intimate relationships enough to have a negative impact on a woman’s quality of life.
Chronic pelvic pain is defined as pain involving the pelvis, anterior abdominal wall, lower back, and/or buttocks and lasting greater than six months. Chronic pelvic pain can impact a woman’s sexual experience, as it is known to cause pain during intercourse and can result in problems with intimacy and sexual function.
At Methodist Physicians Clinic Women’s Center Pelvic Pain & Sexual Medicine clinic, we can assist with issues such as:
- Diminished/lack of libido or arousal
- Diminished/inability to lubricate
- Delayed or absent orgasm
- Pain with intercourse
